Organic Whole Cloves are dried, unopened flower buds from a tropical evergreen native to the Eastern Indonesia Islands. Organic Whole Cloves are a pungent warm spice with an intense flavor and aroma. Cloves combine well with other aromatic spices like cardamon, cumin and star anise. They are often used in cakes, pastries and biscuits and in savoury dishes like curries and tagines. Cloves are also often used when pickling vegetables and fruit like lemons. Therapeutically, clovehave been used in dentistry, they contain eugenol; a chemical that acts as a mild anesthetic and antibacterial agent.
